About
As longtime Champaign residents and frequent visitors to downtown, new owners Don and Susan Elmore are beyond excited (and a bit overwhelmed) as they embark on this adventure with their equally excited family. Sons Trey (also known as Don to some) and Kenton, and Trey’s wife Judy, will all be very involved in this family business. Judy has long proclaimed that working in a bookstore is her dream job, so hers will be the ecstatically happy face you are most likely to see when you visit the store.
Don and Susan are active community volunteers. Don currently serves as president of 40 North | 88 West, Champaign County’s Arts, Culture, and Entertainment Council. He is the webmaster and former club secretary of the Kiwanis Club of Champaign-Urbana, and he also volunteers for GCAP, the Greater Community AIDS Project. Susan is a member of the Downtown Independent Volunteer Association, a GCAP volunteer, and with her extensive background in healthcare she donates energy to a number of health-related causes.
We are also members of the Champaign Downtown Association and the Champaign County Chamber of Commerce.
Many thanks to Flora…
Flora Faraci and her wonderful staff provided book lovers with a well-stocked, welcoming haven for more than 25 years. You’ll see changes in the store but we hope to preserve the same warm atmosphere and offer the friendly, knowledgeable customer service that were Flora’s trademarks. We are grateful that she gave us the opportunity to follow in her footsteps!
